John T. Connor, Jr.
John T. Connor, Jr. is the founder
and portfolio manager of the Third Millennium Russia Fund (TMRFX),
a U.S., S.E.C.-registered mutual fund focusing on the equities of
public companies in Russiaand other CIS countries. In 2003 and
2006, he was ranked No.1 Portfolio Manager in the U.S.by the annual
Barron's/Value Line survey. In 2004, the Wall Street Journal ranked
him as the fifth best Overall Fund Manager in the U.S. He is the
author of Out of the Red, Investment and
Capitalism in Russia (John Wiley & Sons 2008). He
has been the Featured Guest onLouis Rukeyser's Wall Street and has
appeared frequently on CNBC, Bloomberg and other business programs.
He was the founding President of the Russian internet company,
Mail.ru. In recent years, in Russia, he has participated in the
Valdai Discussion Club, the RAND Business Leaders Group, theSilicon
Valleydelegation and the St. Petersburg International Economic
Forum.
Trained at Cravath, Swaine &
Moore in New York, he was a partner in various law firms and
General Counsel and Member, Management Committee, at PHH Corp.
(NYSE) for eight years. He served on the Board of Micros Systems,
Inc. (NASD) and Chairman of its Audit Committee for ten years. A
Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams College, he received his JD
from Harvard Law School. He taught at Ferguson College in Pune,
India on a Fulbright grant and worked for the UNDP in Dar es
Salaam, Tanzania. He is a member of the Council on Foreign
Relations based in New York City and was a member of the American
Law Institute. In 2008, he was an elected delegate to a
presidential nominating convention.
